H ardy’s Hill House, once a turn-of-the-century boarding house, is a Maine summer rental home located in North Deer Isle, accessible from the mainland by a bridge and a causeway. A perfect country getaway near the sea, the rental house is set on one-and-a-half acres with gently sloping lawns, and is bordered by an old stone wall and a mixed-woods forest. Stroll down Old Ferry Lane to Ferry Landing where you can swim, launch your boat, sunbathe, or watch sailboats cruise Eggemoggin Reach, one of Maine’s most celebrated sailing lanes.

Close to the sea and a few minutes walk from a sheltered beach with water access for boats and a 20-acre shorefront property protected by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the house is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The house is conveniently located three miles from the village of Deer Isle, and close to Stonington and Blue Hill. The surrounding area is rich in opportunities for coastal hiking, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, fishing, beach-combing. Nearby are numerous art galleries and antique shops. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, where attractions include whale watching, is about one hour by car.

Hardy's Hill House is available for weekly rentals from late May through September. See Rates & Reservations for more information and a calendar of available dates.
